House Wine Video Tasting Rating and Review 2007 Washington State Red Wine
“House Wine” is a brand started by Charles Smith of K Vintners to be a high
quality everyday wine for the masses. For the most part he has found success
in that goal.
The wines have been very well received, gotten good scores and he recently sold the
brand to the Precept group of Washington State. I am not sure if he has remained as
Okay, on the facts. I tasted the 2007 “House Wine” red blend from Washington state.
The Blend is :
30% Cabernet Sauvignon
+ small amounts of Malbec, Zinfandel, Petite Verdot and Cab Franc
“Kitchen sink” blend they threw it all in there.
My tasting notes :
Floral, Lavender, Black Cherries and Black Currants
Complex dark Fruits – Boysenberries predominate
Mid Palette a bit Hollow
Light dry finish
Verdict — 88 points
Price $9 at the Rite Aid the Pearl – Portland Oregon
